Transmission
KAMO Power owns, maintains and operates a transmission system spread across parts of four states. This system consists of more than 2,900 miles of high voltage transmission lines. The KAMO transmission network interconnects with multiple other electric utilities at voltages ranging from 69 kV to 345 kV.

Substations
KAMO relies on its transmission system to serve approximately 300 electric substations. These substations perform critical functions across the grid, including stepping voltage up or down to match system needs and isolating faults caused by weather, equipment failures, or animal contact. In simple terms, substations help move power efficiently across the regional transmission system and deliver it at the appropriate voltage for local distribution.

Telecommunications
KAMO Power began operating an internal communication system in the 1960s, featuring microwave and other wireless systems. In 1979, KAMO installed one of the earliest fiber optic systems in Oklahoma. That internal system has grown into over 3,500 miles of fiber and a subsidiary company, K-PowerNet.
