KAMO Power is seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Engineering Technician II. This is an exempt position that is responsible for assisting with protection and controls design operations at our headquarters in Vinita, Oklahoma. This role plays a key part in the development of substation systems and ensures compliance and efficiency across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:
β€’ Assist in relay and metering design of substations
β€’ Generate designs, drawings, specifications, and material lists
β€’ Develop SEL relay logic, SCADA point lists, and communication processor configurations
β€’ Prepare compliance spreadsheets and technical documentation

Qualifications:
β€’ Associate of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Electronic Technology
β€’ 2–5 years of experience in relay and metering

Now Hiring: Electrical Engineer II - Relay
πŸ“Location: KAMO Power Headquarters – Vinita, Oklahoma

KAMO Power is seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Engineer II – Relay. This is an exempt position that is responsible for applying engineering techniques for substation relaying and metering design, NERC compliance, miss-operations, reviews and event analysis, communication equipment configuration and system protection with moderate supervision by manager, including assignments, techniques and procedures. 

 

Key Responsibilities:
β€’ With moderate supervision, generate accurate Substation Relaying and Metering design including drawings, specifications and material lists.  
β€’ Perform relay settings calculations, coordination studies, and fault analysis
β€’ Prepare and review relay settings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
β€’ Support commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of protective relaying equipment
β€’ Analyze system disturbances and outages; recommend corrective actions
β€’ Coordinate with operations, engineering, and field personnel on relay-related projects
β€’ Ensure compliance with NERC, IEEE, and applicable industry standards
β€’ Provide technical guidance and support to engineers and technicians
β€’ Assist with system planning, upgrades, and protection & control capital projects

 

Qualifications:
β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or related field
β€’ 3–5 years of experience in protective relaying or power system engineering
β€’ Working knowledge of:
 – Protective relays and relay coordination principles
 – Fault analysis and power system protection methods
 – SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, or similar relay platforms
 – One-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams
β€’ Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
β€’ Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one preferred

KAMO Power is seeking a detail-oriented Project Manager. This is an exempt position responsible for overseeing the construction and major maintenance projects of KAMO facilities, including transmission substations, distribution substations, transmission lines, aerial and underground fiber optic cable, telecommunications towers, buildings, warehouses, and related facilities, as well as generating Environmental Reports (ERs) for RUS approval in compliance with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) guidelines at our Vinita, Oklahoma facility. This position plays a key part in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with regulatory and environmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
β€’ Manage and oversee construction and major maintenance projects for transmission substations, distribution substations, transmission lines, including aerial and underground fiber optic cable, telecommunications towers, buildings, warehouses, and related facilities.
β€’ Plan, coordinate, and monitor project schedules, budgets, safety requirements, quality standards, and overall project performance from initiation through completion.
β€’ Prepare Environmental Reports (ERs) and oversee environmental permitting in compliance with RUS National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) guidelines and other applicable regulations.
β€’ Coordinate with contractors, surveyors, internal departments, and construction crews while evaluating bids, resolving project issues, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Qualifications:
β€’ Bachelor’s degree required; Electrical Engineering degree preferred. Degree must be from an ABET accredited program.
β€’ Minimum of four (4) to nine (9) years of experience in the construction or utility industry, including at least two (2) years in Project Management or Construction Management.
β€’ Intermediate knowledge of:
 – RUS construction and environmental compliance requirements
 – Project Management and Construction Management practices
 – Electric utility industry standards, regulations, and best practices
 – Transmission substations, transmission lines, telecommunications facilities, and related infrastructure
β€’ Equivalent combinations of education and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

Qualifications:

KAMO Power is seeking a Subscriber Services Representative II. This is a non-exempt position responsible for managing subscriber service communications with contracted cooperatives, including handling general inquiries, subscriber turn-ups, troubleshooting fiber-related calls, and other subscriber service matters. This position plays a key part in providing accurate, timely, and courteous support while ensuring cooperative policies and procedures are followed.

Key Responsibilities:
β€’ Receive and accurately document incoming subscriber inquiry calls and enter tickets with all required information.
β€’ Provide accurate information to subscribers regarding general inquiries while following applicable cooperative policies and procedures.
β€’ Resolve subscriber equipment and subscription issues in accordance with contracted cooperative procedures.
β€’ Communicate incidents and issues requiring immediate attention or follow-up to the on-duty supervisor.

Qualifications:
β€’ Two (2) to four (4) years of customer service, call center, or help desk experience preferred; two (2) to four (4) years of utility fiber-to-the-home experience preferred.
β€’ General knowledge of:
 – Fiber-to-the-home services provided by contracted cooperatives
 – Fundamentals of fiber internet concepts
 – KAMO and contracted cooperatives’ computer programs
 – KAMO and contracted cooperatives’ policies and procedures
β€’ Equivalent industry experience may be considered toward substitution of degree requirements.
