Job Title: Relay Engineer I
All levels of experience will be considered. Job and pay grade will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
KAMO Power, located in Vinita, Oklahoma is in search of a Relay Engineer I. This position will report to KAMO’s Vinita, Oklahoma headquarters. KAMO offers an exceptional compensation and benefits package including 100% paid employee medical coverage and employer base contribution 401K plan.
This position will apply engineering techniques for substation relaying and metering design, NERC compliance, miss operations, reviews and even analysis, communication equipment configuration and system protection with close supervision by manager, including assignments, techniques and procedures. Assist in developing SCADA system point’s list. Assist with on-site substation checkout and technical support and basic financial analysis of design projects.
Ideal candidates will have basic knowledge of substation relaying and metering design, AutoCAD, SEL software, Aspen software, SEL relays, SEL RTAC communication processors, relay event analysis, relay settings, SEL relay logic, SCADA systems point list development, system protection theory and protection equipment testing methods. Basic knowledge of substation components such as protective relays, revenue meters, communications processors, schematics, wiring diagrams, metering, power transformers, potential transformers, relaying and metering current transformers, circuit breakers, circuit switchers, capacitor banks, wave traps, reactors and transmission lines.
A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineers and Technology (ABET) accredited school, with one (1) year of experience in substation relaying and metering design is preferred.
