Job Title:  Engineer III

Posting Date: June 3, 2025

KAMO Power, located in Vinita, Oklahoma is in search of a Engineer III.  The work location will be Vinita Headquarters.

An Engineering in the substation design department will work on the physical design of new substations or maintenance redesign of existing structures.  Responsible for developing project scopes, conceptual designs, one-lie diagrams and cost estimates for substation projects.  

Ideal candidates should possess a general knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D as it relates to electric power transmission and distribution substations. Demonstrate general technical knowledge of substation components such as transformers, circuit breakers, circuit switchers, capacitor banks, wave traps, reactors, and buss work.

A Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited school is required.  Ideal candidates should have four (4) to seven (7) years of experience.

All levels of experience will be considered.  Job and pay grade will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.

Now Hiring: Substation Technician I
📍 Location: Cleveland, Oklahoma

 

KAMO Power is seeking a safety-conscious and motivated Substation Technician I to join our team at our Cleveland, Oklahoma facility. This position plays a vital role in supporting the maintenance, repair, and testing of substation equipment to ensure reliable and safe operation of our electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the processing, testing, and maintenance of substation equipment including transformers, breakers, regulators, circuit switchers, capacitors, switches, power panels, batteries and reclosers
  • Support restoration efforts during power outages
  • Learn and apply basic maintenance procedures for high-voltage equipment ranging from 15 kV to 345 kV
  • Support the calibration of gauges and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical devices
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, physical design drawings, and technical specifications

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in applied science in Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology required
  • Equivalent industry experience may potentially be considered for substitution of degree requirements
  • Basic knowledge of AC and DC circuits, transformer applications, and substation equipment maintenance
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings

KAMO Power is seeking a customer-focused Subscriber Services Representative I to join our team in Vinita, Oklahoma. This role is essential in supporting our cooperative fiber subscribers by providing high-quality customer service and technical assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
• Handle incoming cooperative fiber calls and provide general information
• Resolve equipment and subscription issues per cooperative procedures
• Accurately enter support tickets with all required subscriber and issue details
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure subscriber satisfaction

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required
• Associate degree or 2-year technical degree in computer technology/network administration preferred
• 1–2 years of experience in customer service, call center, or help desk
• Experience with utility fiber-to-the-home systems preferred
• Equivalent industry experience may substitute for formal education

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer and direct incoming telephone calls professionally

  • Maintain organized and confidential records and filing systems

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required

Now Hiring: Recruiting and Onboarding Specialist II
📍 Location: KAMO Power Headquarters – Vinita, Oklahoma

KAMO Power is seeking an experienced Recruiting and Onboarding Specialist II to join our HR team in Vinita, Oklahoma. This position plays a key role in recruiting, onboarding, and ensuring compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. With limited supervision, this role supports both strategic and administrative human resource functions and helps ensure a smooth and compliant employee experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage recruitment process from job posting through job offer.
  • Coordinate and complete pre-employment screenings and onboarding for DOT and non-DOT roles (including FMCSA Clearinghouse checks, background checks, physicals, and documentation)
  • Conduct new hire orientation and manage logistics for onboarding and internship programs
  • Coordinate and administer KAMO drug and alcohol testing program
  • Maintain DOT Driver Qualification Files (DQFs) and ensure all documentation is current
  • Administer KAMO recruitment and internship programs.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in human resources, recruiting, or compliance, or a combination of education and experience
  • Strong working knowledge of HR and onboarding practices, with specific experience in DOT/FMCSA compliance
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred, or willingness to obtain

Now Hiring: Engineering Technician II
📍 Location: KAMO Power Headquarters – Vinita, Oklahoma

KAMO Power is seeking a detail-oriented Engineering Technician II to support our protection and controls design operations at our headquarters in Vinita, Oklahoma. This role plays a key part in the development of substation systems and ensures compliance and efficiency across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in relay and metering design of substations
• Generate designs, drawings, specifications, and material lists
• Develop SEL relay logic, SCADA point lists, and communication processor configurations
• Prepare compliance spreadsheets and technical documentation

Qualifications:
• Associate of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Electronic Technology
• 2–5 years of experience in relay and metering
• Working knowledge of:
 – Relay event analysis and protective relays
 – SCADA systems and point list development
 – Revenue meters, power/current transformers, and circuit protection equipment
 – Wave traps, capacitor banks, carrier equipment, and reactors
• Equivalent education and experience will be considered
