GIS Intern | Engineering Department - Vinita, Oklahoma

KAMO Power, a Generation and Transmission electric cooperative operating in Oklahoma and Missouri, is seeking a GIS Intern for our Engineering department at our headquarters facility in Vinita, Oklahoma.  Vinita is located in the northeast corner of Oklahoma, approximately 1 hour from Tulsa, Oklahoma and 45 minutes from Joplin, Missouri.

This internship shall perform the following functions:

  • Assist in building and maintaining a GIS transmission network database
  • Enter easement parcels from easement and other court documents
  • Assist in entering engineering data from drawings into transmission database.
  • Perform any other duties related to the position of GIS Intern as directed by the Senior GIS Analyst

Student preference would be a sophomore or junior needing a summer internship from May to August of 2020.  Extended part-time work beyond summer is possible. 

Students pursuing a degree in Geospatial Science, Geospatial Engineering, Cartography or Geography, or related discipline, with an emphasis in Geographical Information Systems are encouraged to submit a resume by February 14, 2020 to the attention of Human Resources, KAMO Power, P.O. Network Analyst / Architect Intern | Information Technology Department - Vinita, Oklahoma

KAMO Power, a Generation and Transmission electric cooperative operating in Oklahoma and Missouri, is seeking a Network Analyst / Architect Intern for our IT department at our headquarters facility in Vinita, Oklahoma.  Vinita is located in the northeast corner of Oklahoma on I-44, approximately 1 hour from Tulsa, Oklahoma and 45 minutes from Joplin, Missouri.

This internship shall perform the following functions:

  • Assist from the Network Operations Center in monitoring and maintaining an Enterprise LAN/WAN and a regional fiber optic transport network providing communication needs to substations and commercial customers
  • Assist from the Network Operations Center in answering trouble calls and assigning trouble tickets to proper personnel
  • Assist in troubleshooting network outages of various technologies and complexities – Technologies include Ethernet, Routing, MPLS, DWDM and SONET
  • Assist in provisioning new network equipment for deployment, provisioning new circuits across existing networks
  • Assist in entering as-built documentation to circuit databases and updating design drawings via Microsoft Visio
  • Perform any other duties related to the position of Network Analyst / Architect Intern as directed by the Senior Analyst / Architect

Member Services Representative I - Vinita, Oklahoma

This position will handle heavy inbound call volume and moderate outbound calls, exercise independent judgment to help address member issues, and work in emergency situations with speed and accuracy.  Resolve members’ billing and disconnect for non-payment issues by performing activities such as arranging for payments according to procedures, and reconnecting service.  Ability to multi-task efficiently between phone, keyboard and multiple computer programs and screens to access and communicate customer information.  Receive incoming calls concerning power outages, and enter tickets with all pertinent information repair crews need to find and restore outages safely.  The position requires 0-2 years’ experience in a customer service, call center or emergency services environment; utility experience preferred.  A high school diploma or GED is also required.   Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays and reside within 30 minutes of work location.  This position is subject to on call.
